Spring is here. One day there is snow, wind and rain, and we shiver, and the next we have a frosty morning and a beautiful sunny day, and temperatures can be in the mid-twenties one day and barely double figures next day. This will continue until the end of October when the weather settles down (usually) to being sunny and nicely warm, not hot, for a few weeks.

However, when the sun has been shining and warm, I have been busy painting and dyeing. Here are some more of my sun-painted fabrics, resembling feathers, both grey in colour. One has been ironed and the other hasn’t, can you tell which?

I have painted several colours – bright blue, pinky red, golden yellow and a bright grassy green. I will take them with me next week to sell at the Tas Quilting Guild’s quarterly meeting, where I have a stall selling my fabrics and a few other quilty things.
This year’s quilt challenge for the Christmas meeting is “Birds”, so I am hoping a few members will like the look of my feathery fabric for their birds and need to have some.
